<Research Talk with Professor Jabbour, ECE Department>
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at SUNY Korea hosted a Research Talk titled “Engineering Tomorrow: From Ultrathin Silicon to Flexible Electronics and Smart Textiles” with Professor Ghassan Jabbour on October 1, 2026.
The seminar explored innovative approaches to developing new technologies while using fewer resources and making manufacturing more affordable. Professor Jabbour shared his research connecting advanced materials, manufacturing, and device design, covering topics such as ultrathin silicon, nanomaterials, quantum dots, printed electronics, photonic devices, and micro-/nanoscale 3D printing.
Students had the opportunity to learn how interdisciplinary research across electrical, mechanical, materials, and chemical engineering can lead to new possibilities in technology development. The talk also highlighted how innovative and sustainable approaches can transform materials into functional devices and technologies.
The ECE Department thanks Professor Jabbour for sharing his research and experiences with our students and for offering valuable insights into emerging technologies and interdisciplinary engineering research.
