The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at SUNY Korea expresses its sincere appreciation to Professor Sangjin Hong, founding chair of the ECE Department, for his many contributions to the department since its establishment in Fall 2022.

Under Professor Hong's guidance, the department established its instructional laboratories, developed course offerings and course sequences tailored to SUNY Korea ECE students, and launched the EVision student club and the Women in ECE initiative. Through his commitment to education and student mentoring, he created a supportive community where students could grow both academically and professionally. These efforts laid a strong foundation for the department's academic programs and student activities.

The department thanks Professor Hong for his vision, dedication, and lasting contributions. His work has shaped the department and will continue to support its students and faculty for years to come. We wish him continued success and happiness in the future.
