Chair / Professor Seung Ho Hwang

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at SUNY Korea is pleased to welcome Professor Seung Ho Hwang as the new Chair of the ECE Department.

Professor Hwang received his B.S. degree from Seoul National University, his M.S. degree from KAIST, and his Ph.D. degree from the University of California, Berkeley, all in Electrical Engineering. Before joining SUNY Korea, he served as a faculty member at KAIST for about ten years. He then spent another decade in Silicon Valley, where he developed key patents that helped establish the HDMI standard. He later served as Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics' System LSI Division and Hyundai Motor Company, where he contributed to connected car and vehicle intelligence technologies.

Professor Hwang brings extensive academic and industry experience to the department. His research interests include electronic and electrical systems design and implementation. The department warmly welcomes Professor Hwang and looks forward to continued growth and new achievements under his leadership.
